BIOGRAPHY

Laura Dark is an award winning, internationally published, and a Certified Professional Photographer through the Professional Photographers of America. She is also a member of the Professional Photographers of Ohio and has been a professional conceptual and portrait photographer nearly 30 years.

Laura is well known for her many publications, magazine covers, and her 2 years as Senior Fashion and Beauty Editor with the avant garde fashion magazine, Dark Beauty. Laura was the 2022 WeddingRule Editor’s Choice Winner for Boudoir Photography. She was also featured in the 2018 Photographer’s Market Book.

Laura started her photography career when she was the photographer for her high school year book and newspaper. She attended art school and then apprenticed under a local portrait photographer for several years before opening her own business.

In 2008 Laura opened her first brick and mortar studio in a shared artist space in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Since then Laura’s business has grown by leaps and bounds, servicing 1000s of clients from all over the globe. In October 2020 Laura moved to her current 2600 sq ft store front boutique studio. She provides hair styling, makeup, wardrobe, accessories, props, and beautiful photography to between 40 and 60 clients a month.

Laura is currently working on obtaining her Master of Photography degree and Master Artist degree through the PPA.
